SC 150, with the Atman 2500 pump- well it quit working properly today...

Yep, my Atman 2500 had been working great for just over 2 years,
suddenly today, it was having problems.
I cleaned it, it worked fine, and quits pumping very much pressure.

A search finds that not only have there been problems with it, but it has been discontinued.

I googled it, and instead of just ordering another impellar with the pin wheel, I just ordered another one of those.
I'll try the impellar out of it, and if it's actually the motor itself, I'll have that tool
For less than 2 impellars, I just got a pump.

Should be here in 3-5 days.

I'll be without skimmer until then.
I'll feed less, and do a WC too.

Luckily, my DT is doing awesome right now, etc.

 

I got the new Atman 2500 in the mailbox today.
Ebay- $55 shipped

I took out the new impeller and compared it to the older one.
The new one's magnet cylinder is 3/8" longer than the old.

I put it back in, and used the new pump.

The skimmers working awesome again! A quick and easy, $55 fix.
I'm hoping this one will last at least 3 years +!

 

Was this for the Sca skimmer? I got the new atman pump to and I agree it's awesome! Never had a skimmer pull skimate like this one, It outperforms most skimmers on the market by far.

 

I ordered one off eBay for my swc 160 skimmer for backup. Haven't checked if it fits. Looks a little bigger than I remember.

 

Yes, the SC150 now is the SCA 302? Same skimmer, same company, etc.
This is by far the best skimmer/money.

Should work, maybe a little modding. TGhe swc and the sca are very close to being identical- I think they are in fact made by different manufacturers though.
