Unresolved Sandbed is darkening

    This is in no way urgent, however, my lfs gave me some sand from an established frag tank (no fish) and for a week it was fine and white, like the rest of my aragonite, but now it is noticeably darker. Diatoms? Sorry no pic yet...

    Is it fairly new sand? Because my sand when I bought it, It was nice and white then about 1 week later it started to darken up. I believe as the more older it is the more darker and harder it gets.

    If you have a new tank most likely. If diatoms should pass in a couple of weeks. What are your params?

    Sand is still new, Thats why it seems darker. Give it a week or 2.
