    your tank is too small for that starfish. they need ATLEAST 60 gallons a starfish will eat anything when it is starving. it has already eaten all the life in the sand bed now its trying to find other sources of food. ive even heard that when its extremely desperate it will arch up on its legs and hope that a fish will swim under it so it can eat it. you need to take the starfish back or it will die. please research your livestock better before purchasing
