    how would so many species get introduced? the only thing i can think of is people putting them there, or are they migrating on there own. any other ideas?

    Yeah they are getting there in ballasts of ships. Many ships fill with water to weigh their keel down, then when they get where they need to go, they often dump out the water into local waters.

    San Francisco Bay has many many giant shipping docks, ships come from all over the world. So they are bringing things in from everywhere and dumping them here!
