    Hey all,
I just picked up a couple 5gal buckets from our high schools cafeteria. The buckets had pickles in them, they are cleaned but still smell pretty strongly like pickle juice. I'm planning on using them for mixing salt, Is there any issues with them still smelling of pickles? I will rinse them out well before I use them.

    Thanks

You're probably just smelling the dill and vinegar that leached into the plastic. Using them after being well rinsed would probably be fine, but I would scrub them well with a water vinegar solution and then rinse well one more time.

Thanks! I gave them a good scrub and soak with vinegar/water and the smell has gone away a little bit(now the sink drain stinks of vinegar!!)
