salt build up on bulb??

    i have a small amout of salt buold up on my 400w 20k XM mh bulbs, not a lot, but noticable..will it be a problem(like exploding the bulb or burn spots) if i leave it there for any lenght of time? any expierence anyone?

    I have never seen it leave burn spots before myself.

    I get that too. When the bulb is cold you can wipe it off with a damp towel. Repeat, when the bulb is cold. ;D
    In fact, I was planning on doing that myself.

    I moved some glass to prevent the surge from splashing it anymore.

    A little vinegar on the rag, applied to a cold bulb ;D, will make the salt come off a little easier IMO.

    kewl thx, i will orbrably try to use alcohol to wipe it down, so it will evaporate quicker...thx guys, ill have some new pics of my tank with the 20k 400w XM's up soon...cheers!
