Has anyone ever experienced a problem with their salinity changing through out the day....everyday??? Mine goes from a high of 29.5 to a low of 25. And it has been doing this everyday for the last 5 days. The graph on my Apex controller is telling me early in the AM its at a high point but then in the mid PM time it hits a low.

Any ideas? Is the probe bad?

    sounds like the probe.

For your water to swing that much you would have to have MASSIVE evaporation on a TINY tank.

    Something is not functioning properly.
    Do you have a refracto?

I do and it reads 1.023 everytime I check it on the refracto. Must be the probe.....I have a 300g tank.....there is no WAY there can be that much evaporation.

It's the probe. The only way to make salinity go down that much is to add water. If you can't remember if you added that much water, then there's another problem at hand. :)

Must be the probe - you would need to change 100 gallons of SW for FW to get that big of a swing!!! Especially if your refracto is consistent.

Figured it out.....bubbles were getting under the probe.
