    So, I got icks. grrr.

It's in the QT and I am using hypo-salinity. Does that really work if I keep it in there for like 6 weeks. I see it's getting better, but do they just burrow under the fish skin or if I leave the fish in the QT w/ hyposal for 6 weeks, I should clear the ick off.

My salinity is at 1.020 now. Should I lower it more?

You will want to eventually get it to 1.015 or so. But do it slow. The rule of thumb is do not lower it more than .002 or raise more than .001 per 24 hours. Then keep it there for a month. That will ensure that the life cycle is complete.

You can also try Formalin or Malachite green. I used MG on my yellow tang when it came down with it. Worked well. I did what was considered a dip. I put an ounce in a ten gallon tank with the tang, let him sit in there for 30 minutes, then placed him with the general population (main tank). Yup, that was at the beginning. I had no idea what I was doing. It solved the problem though. It also stained the silicone in the QT a cool shade of green. It is now my nano tank. It is still stained. I like it (as long as it isn't my main tank).

Thanks pharmrjohn. I will try Malachite Green and also keep him hypo for a while. I hope that kill them all.
