Ive been researching for the next purchase and am almost sure that im going to go with a sailfin... only thing i cant seem to find consistent information on is the difference between a desjardini and a normal one? what is the coloration difference and where are both types caught from... i read Hawaii and Red sea thrown around for both types

    Desjardini Tang RED SEA

Here ya go. Some nice comparison shots. As far as I can tell, there is no difference except in coloration.

I actually just ordered a desjardini yesterday.

ahhh thank you very much! judging from the pictures, my guy stocks desjardinis, not normal ones... except for half the price of that particular site ;P

Doesn't surprise me. I see them mislabeled all the time. As a juv, most of the difference is in the face.
