That's a great question... I just upgraded my LEDs today and was wondering the same thing???

    Will it cause more algae?

Are you talking about actinics or a uv sterilizer? If you are referring to actinic then absolutely not.

On LED fixtures such as mine, AI prime, you can control the uv it self..... Meaning, there is a light or a set of LED lights that put out only ultraviolet.... So you can have the tank almost dark and still have lets say 1 or 2 percent of uv.... Or maybe 100% whatever you so choose. So my question is at night with night lights on would it hurt the tank to have maybe 5 or 10% of uv as well....?

I wouldn't.The corals and fish need a break from uv. Not sure how much would be harmful but its an unnecessary risk imo.It could also potentially lead to an algae problem as well.
