Is there a way to run this without the use of cannister filters or equipment?

Do you have a sump? you could place it in a high flow area. Do you have a hang on back filter? You could pop it in there. Many options. Whats your setup?

if your asking if you can just toss it in the display and expect it to work great, its not. It will need to be attached somewhere where there is high flow.

Actually, it will need to be attached somewhere that water will pass through it. Just tossing it in a high flow area is not going to accomplish much, if anything.

i do have a sump and thats where I want to run it. I am building a new system with some equipment from my old system that was contaiminated with copper. The equipment I am using. acrylic sump, return pump, heater. and skimmer, I have cleaned and ran for 3 days in a bleach-water mix. So to make sure they are copper free I want to run with Cuprisorb. But from what I under stand cuprisorb comes in pellet form, so how would I run it in a HOB filter.

it comes in a pouch, not pellets.

and yes amcarrig is right, water must pass through it.

I would recommend running a poly-filter(thats the brand name) too. It will remove heavy metals and change color to indicate if it sucked any copper up. Its a good copper test and removal at the same time.

It only comes in a pouch for the small size. If your going to run the larger size container you need to get some media bags to put it in.

Yes poly Filter, its a type of filter pad. Cost about 10-15 bucks for a foot long sheet of it. Changes blue if there is copper in your system

cuprisorb comes in a small pouch and you can buy the lifetime supply containers of it and place them in media bags.

I would recommend temporarily running both just in case.
