rockscape or aquascape acrylic question..

I just purchased a 1/8 inch sheet of acrylic for the rockscape base. I plan on drilling holes in to the base and then attaching the acrylic rods through the rocks to help creat nice formations..

My question is once I drill the holes what can I use to attach the acrylic rods, to the acrylic base? And how do you suggest that I bend the rods, using heat?

Would you guys happen to have a video or pictures of this process? I've search all over and cant find any.. Please help.. Thanks!
