HOw much do you need? You're talking flow thru the sump, right? IMHO, that's probably already too much flow thru the sump. What about Power head flow in the tank?

Good luck with the move, sounds like you have it planned out really well.

Ideally I want in the mid-2000 gph to the sump. I've got the tank covered with 3 Vortech 40s and some ancillary Sicce Voyagers

So far a successful day 1 of the move:

Not too many pictures because this was a very long day.

I have no pictures... Matt got a few, but holy crap... second tough day in a row.

So far all the important fish made it - no confirmed losses. Lots of broken corals, but most were wither salvaged and added to new tank or given away to Matt and others who helped with the move.

Matt will be adding some pics soon.

I am confused (not uncommon) - I thought the sump was in the basement? but people are moving the sump up six flights of stairs.

Congratulations on getting everything moved. Sounds like you've made it through the toughest part.

That was moving it out of the original house - we live(d) on the downward slope of a hill... a pretty steep hill... and the sump was in the "basement" two floors under the tank.

Also, that day we move we had to take ~140 gallons of water out of the sump up to street level. That was in 5 gallon buckets :)
