There is a code for this?

I agree that the single drain manifold is not the greatest idea, according to Dr. Murphy, and his laws!

Great work, keep up the good work.

When that one pipe COULD get clooged with something, I hope you have a high water level sut off in yout DT, or you may be mopping up water. According to Dr. Murphy, law 3.23a.

The several drains I don't think were intended to end in one outlet to your sump?

Oh, I misunderstood. I'm not worried at all about the drain pipe getting clogged. It is 1.5" PVC and the entries to the dursos will be protected with strainers. The "per code" is per residential building code. Since the pipe was in when the inspection happened, it was part of the inspection. As such, there is a grade along the entire length of the pipe which prohibits sediment from building up - no traps that could cause a clog.

This is essentially the same set up I have now, only on one tank instead of two.

The place where an obstruction will occur is at the strainer. That is one reason to have multiple drains. Another is to provide enough throughput so each drain does not get overloaded. Once it passes the bulkhead in the tank, there is really no way for the drain to get anything in it that will clog it.

So this is going to take a while (24 hours in)

I also forgot to mention that I inherited a waterfall/pond. It used to be powered by a 5 amp pump for the lower part and 9 amp for the upper. I replaced them with a single DC 10500 pump (the same one I'm using on my aquarium) boosted by a mag 9 - a total of 1.8 amps :)
