some of you guys get such good deals! I have to pay 1.50 per gallon of salt water.

For $238 you can get the Spectrapure MaxCap from Marine Depot.
SpectraPure® MaxCap RO/DI System w/ Pressure Gauge & Purity Monitor
This is by far the best RO/DI available and no one offers anything even close. Its $38 over your $20 budget but you will recoup that difference in DI replacements in the first year alone and it will pay you back from then on.
I got mine from ebay. Works great and it's $70.
0PPM Portable 100GPD Reverse Osmosis RO+DI Water Filter | eBay
You get what you pay for with RO/DI and a $70 system is worth just about that. Note it uses non standard filters which are smaller so are harder to find, cost more to replace and do not last as long. It also does not come with a pressure gauge or TDS meter.
Add in the cost of better full size filters, a TDS meter and a presure gauge andyou are close to the cost of a true reef quality system that lasts and works. When buying a system look at the long term cost of ownership as most of us plan to keep and use them for years.
Check Out Bulk Reef Supply They Are Reasonable And Comes With Everything You Need
You get what you pay for with RO/DI so look not only at the capital outlay but also at the cost to operate the system over time. Spectrapure comes out on top every time due to their superior absolute rated prefilters, high efficiency membranes and custom blended reef specific DI resins.
