    I read online today that Rod's food has a lot of excess phosphates in it. Maybe that's contributing to your phosphate problem. I have no experience with that, just read it online!

    I thaw my frozen food in water from my tank then pour it in the tank. I think that frozen particles can possibly cause temperature shock to a fish if they are sufficiently large and still frozen.
