Buyers remorse, is, unfortunately, a common-place thing in the days of financing and impulse buying. It seems to me that there is nothing physically wrong with the vehicle you purchased but that you quickly realized it doesn't "suit" you. If I were the dealer, I'd be upset to reverse the deal too. Not only was it a waste of time to sell you the vehicle but now they have to reverse all the financing as well. As someone has mentioned, giving you back your old vehicle may be impossible as they may have sold it or even sent it to auction. The dealer can't always be held liable for a customer's poor decisions. If this happens at one of our dealerships, we would trade the customer out of the vehicle but it certainly wouldn't be for $0. That is, of course, unless there is a special circumstance that would call for otherwise.

With that said, I am not privy to the entire situation and I'm going off only the information I can view here. I don't mean to come off as condescending but it seems to me that you simply regret buying the vehicle. If that's not the case, my apolgies.

i have worked around dealerships most of my life. One question.....do you just not like it or is there something wrong? If you just don't like it your in a bad place. If there is a problem they need to fix it. As far as a "right" to return it. Never heard of that. Lemon laws usually pretain to new cars but that varies from state to state.

in most cases when you sign the paperwork and take delivery (drive it off the lot) you own it. On the good side not giving them the 1500 may help your bargaining power. I cannot believe they let you take it without the cash up front.

Being loud in the showroom won't help unless you want a police escort off the lot. I have seen that happen more then once.

    Good luck

The down payment is stated in the contract and all of the paper work has been turned in. So if the dealer hasn't recieved my down payment have they lied to me and the bank?

I say keep the down payment, and sell the truck for more cash. Then go to a different dealer and buy what you really wanted in the first place. I don't know about the legality of this plan.. but it's what I would want to do.

The down payment has nothing to do with the bank. They don't care. That's the dealers money, you only financed the rest. All the bank cares about is what they pay and the car it represents.

I just got out of the Dr.'s office. I tore all the ligaments in my ankle :( Grade 3 sprain.

You can keep the down payment and there is nothing they can legally do about it. (extremely unethical and I don't suggest it) But, I will tell you, that legally there is nothing they can do about it. (they will make it seem like there is, but there isn't)

I will call you back first thing in the morning. They put me on so many pain meds I can't think clearly and my ankle hurts so bad I just need to lay down. If you don't hear from me, please call. It's probably because I didn't get the number right.

A friend of mine was in a situation very similar to yours and he just demanded his old car back and it took a long time, a lot of no's, sorry cant do that, they even told him numerous times that they had already sold his car... turns out they lied to him and after much persistence they gave him his old car back. On a side note I wouldn't give them the down payment if you haven't already, its called a down payment because you put the money down before you buy the car if you already have it then your good :)

In a side note, I hate dealerships and most of the in your face, know nothing salesmen that work there. With that said, I am delightfully surprised when I meet a good salesman. There are dealerships here where it's not uncommon to almost hit a salesman that jumps out in front of your car.

For sure go to the BBB and post everything that has happened there this might not fix your problem but it might make it so others do not have this problem again.

Srry your having such a hard time sounds like a crappy dealer
