Return pump size for 120 reef tank

    I have a 120 reef tank (48x24x24) with 1 one inch drain and 1 3/4 return line. Refugium holds 30 gallons (32x16x16) and it will be underneath the tank. The Skimmer is a Reef Octopus XP- 2000 internal skimmer I have two MP 40's (and a couple of Koralia 750's if needed). I need to have a recommendation for a return pump, the quieter the better. I don't need it as a power head, as you can see, I have that taken care of, but I will be running it through a UV sterilizer which I also need your recommendation on. All of this will be plumbed with PVC.

    My sump is drilled for an external pump, but would do an internal if it meets my criteria.
    I'm actually looking at an Eheim 1262 pump. is this a good choice?

    Is that GPH@ 0' or is that taking in account for plumbing? Are you using a sterilizer, or any other accessories?

    Sorry if I hijacked your thread. Is my 550 gph return enough for my 120g? I have 40g sump. Thank, sorry again if I do.

    I run a 740 GPH return pump on my 125. Including head loss I would guess I am getting only 650 gph. I would say your fine. If your flow is too fast and you have macros you lose the effect you are looking for.
