I bought a green bubble coral about 6 months ago, and it had been on a slow decline since then. The bubbles inflated less and less all the time, in spite of pristine water and feedings with mysis shrimp. I moved it all around the tank - high light, low light, high flow, low flow, etc. It finally reached a point where there was no flesh visible on it at all, just a skeleton.

I considered throwing it out, but kept it around in the tank just in case. Well, after about 3 weeks, it is now putting out small green bubbles again. They don't inflate well yet, but they are definitely alive. An un-expected resurrection!
