    Did i mention do it in a steel sink? Alot of people have the seamless acrylic sink I think it will stain.

    good looking out thanks! Lukily I have a steel sink in the kitchen. I hope that warning reaches someone else before they stain their sink though lol, angry spouses aren't good for anyone :p

    I live in an egocentric universe. Since I have a steel sink EVERYONE must have a steel sink. Gets me in trouble with people.

    Another update - things seem to be in check now. I changed out the gfo and this time put water in the container with it and shook the hell out of it then emptied a few times before I put it in the reactor. Then I hooked it up with carbon empty and let it run into a bucket for awhile. I shop-vac'ed the sump, basted the rocks, and siphoned the sand.

    I can't stress enough how important it is to rinse this stuff very well before running it into your tank! Here's pictures to show how bad this stuff got over the past 2 months or so.
