I can't decide if I want to do a fuge or run bio pellets. What are the best arguments for either?I have used a fuge before with great success.I guess I'm just curious if there is any advantage to running a bio pellet recator?I plan to feed heavy handed also.
    Thanks,Daniel

I run both myself. Refugiums are great for awhile but they do need to be maintained as do bio pellet reactors but running both also allows you to cultivate pods and bio diversity.

I run half of the recomended pellets personally so there's still some nutrients left for the fuge

I think most folks don't run a large enough fuge to actually get the results they want. If you have had good success then I would go with that. More natural is always better IMO. I run Ecobak pellets and am about to setup a new sump. And I'm seriously considering doing a Algae Turf Scrubber. All the benefits of a fuge and eventually some folks remove their skimmers. I have seen great benefits from my bio-pellets, but I think natural will always be better than synthetic carbon dosing.

4 me I say the best answer will justify the last reply...
yes I have purchased my 2 little fishes Npx bio pellets and I have ordered a CPR beta mini reactor from Ameka aquatics...
I've yet to establish the full course of my addtions to my reef...
although the ATS idea i will take into heed and set one up in the near future...

Id do both, Im getting ready to set up a new system with both as well as an algae scrubber. I love the idea of utilizing as much natural filtering as possible.
