    does anyone know if this is a good refractometer:

    premium aquatics had been sold out for a while on theres and i have other stuff to order at dr. fosters and smith anyway

    Yes as a matter of fact it is a nice piece of equipment. I'm saving up to get one. I was able to try it out at a LFS.

    However, if you're planning on buying one I hope you have 20/20 vision. It was really hard for me to read the really small scales, and I do have 20/20.

    I wonder if it's possible to get a magnifying lens for the eyepiece.

    It's the only thing that sucked about it. Other than that the refractometer is extremely accurate.

    From what that one lloks like I have the same unit. I love it. My eyes are pretty good and have never had a problem reading the numbers. There is a diopter adjustment if you wear glasses.
    I say go for it. Best $49.00 you will spend
