    a species tank with nems and clownfish guests is a lot safer option IMO

    Adding 1st to a mixed reef is a better idea than adding last and hoping it likes the spot you chose for it
    but if you add 1st and then add other corals later, flow patterns change
    lighting availability can change - depending on what other corals you get
    a tabling acro for example above a nem, is going to shade that nem and eventually that nem is going to move as a result

    we had a nem in PJ Reefs tank - on here
    it stayed where he placed it for 9 months
    then out of the blue wandered over the top of the rockwork and down behind the reef?

    it really is a lottery IMHO
