    So optics-wise, would everyone go with 90 degree? Why not 60 degree? I agree with the thought that 120 (no optics) would be too wide spread.

    60 degree is too narrow, you will have spotlighting in a shallow tank.

    Gotcha. What would be the optimal mounted height for the 90 degree?

    Based on my high school trig knowledge, the height will equal 1/2 of the total width (spread), but at the same time the light distribution is more parabola shaped (as I understand it).

    I just worry about flooding my room with the light vs. it going in my tank
