red slim algae problem

    I have two or 3 rocks with red algae on them some other rocks look like they may start getting it also along with the rusty color sand .... any ideas on the best way to get rid of this? ?

    Use t5 aqualife two actinics purple plus and 10k. Along with two panoramas.

    Just cut my light back to 7.5 hours from 10

    Its mainly on two rocks I got from someone else's tank when I set my tank up

    How old is your tank? Do you have any pictures? If it bacterial there are a few things you can do. The how old is your tank and the pictures would help a ton :)

    i have an urchin that seem to eat it in my tank.

    Cyanobacteria, Can be caused by excess nutrients, Low water movement , old bulbs , High temp.

    look into less feedings, runing GFO/Carbon or bio pellets.

    Already running gfo and carbon. Think ill cut back on feeding and try to cool down tank a few deg.

    I just let it grow in my tank. Never had any problem with it being there.
