    Hello friends!

I've just restarted my tank :D I was cleaning LR, and after placing it back to the tank I've discovered this fancy red fluorescent algae.

The question is, are they good or not ?!

    Cheers!

Hey! Thanks for hint! I don't think it's the case. It looks like a totally new specimen. The most important difference is the fact it glows :D

    Looks lovely :D

Here is pic of coraline in my tank. You can see exactly to what level I drop water when doing water changes...and it gets exposed to air.

Will usually turn white when dying off...

Thanks for feedback Scott. The stuff I see on the rock looks healthy. It looks marvellous when I turn on my actinics.

might not even be coraline, hard to tell from the pic. but omard is right, turns white on the way out. wonder if a black light would make it glow more.

It gives nice fluorescence only when exposed to UV-C like irradiation. I like it. Looks very intriguing. I was trying to find some about fluorescence of marine algae and stumbled upon few papers about fluorescent cyanobacteriae. I will scrap a small sample from the rock , and hand it to guys from marine ecology unit.
