I've always done it right in the tank.
You will need to get out all you hermits and shrimp or they will die.
Since Marc's (Melevsreef) article there has been a lot of different dosage tests. Some have done 1 triple dose with success other stick to the original instructions
    Here is the Original Instructions
you need to do a very large water change and run carbon after

Interceptor is a very effective treatment against red bugs. We had to treat our tank twice to kill all of the bugs.

Will this kill my snails or stomatella that I can't find and remove from the tank?

I'm doing this now. Started last week. I don't see any red bugs now but I will do one more dose.

If you have red bugs you must do it. Then as I have learned the hard way QT your $20.00 frag corals before you put them in and they destroy your $3,000.00 coral setup with pest!:(
