random clam death

    what are some possible causes of clam death?

    Three days ago it just decided to close up and then it slowly died :(
    it was a derasa, lighting is fine, water params are fine, and it had no parasites on it.

    my other three clams are doing perfectly fine also

    edit: i got him at about 1.5-2 inches and he made it the whole way to about 4 inches with visible growth and no issues in the shell growth

    really sorry, that bites. I've had a few things just up and die for no good reason. You know what you're doing so I doubt it's anything you've done.

    ok, i know this is probably not the case but i have never once heard of any fish/invert dying of old age! unavoidable and no fault.so i would just like to give that as my reason =). sorry to hear all the same, any loss is heartbreaking.
