    HI,

Well I messed up a little. I tried to go cheap on a pump to drive my skimmer and bought a Jebo/LifeTech AP5400. It's supposed to put out about 1100gph which is all well and good. Unfortunately, IT'S NOISIER THAN HELL. I now have a new salt mixer pump. :-/ So that I don't repeat my mistakes, I'm looking for recommendations. I have a Dolphin 2700 as my primary circulation pump and that's not as quiet as I hoped. Although it seems to be very good quality and at full volume consistently out paces the ability of the dual overflows to feed the W/D.

So, I'm looking for something very quiet in the 800-1000 gph range without breaking the bank. Right now, the Caddy in terms of noise seems to be a Velocity T3. That's about $150. The T4 is the same price and kicks up from 850 to 11something. I think I'd have to put a check valve on it, but I always like overkill on filters and pumps. I'm slightly concerned that these are water cooled and that the T4 will throw off more heat because of the higher output.

So, anyone have any other ideas or comments?

    Thanks!!!

    Bruce ;D

I have a Mag 9.5 (950 gph) that is very quiet! It was about $70. My 2 Mag 5's have proven very reliable over the several years I have had them.
