    I am slightly concerned about the stand that I built for my 54g corner tank. I put 2x4's under the 2 rear sides, however under the front curved portion the 2x4's meet in the middle, (see below), there is approx. 1" overhang. I am going to put 1" plywood under the entire tank, but should I be concerned about the 1" overhang? Will it sag & be a possible cause of cracks/glass breakage?
    Tank = blue, yellow = 2x4's

    Oops, this should prolly be in "newbie" section...

    Are you going to cut the 1" plywood the same shape as the blue area in your diagram? if so I don't believe you will have a problem....................... John

    Yes - the ply wood will be cut to match the curve of the tank. Thanks for the reassurance!

    ;) You Bet

    I wouldn't worry at all about it if it were me.

    Fletch -
    Yes, there is a leg directly under there.

    Craig -
    The green areas are 1/2" ply wood & will be used for storage & access, the grey (gray?) areas arejust a grid for modeling/scale - each square = 1".

    Thanks again guys. It feels pretty solid now that I've screwed the framework together. I stood on it & tried to move it & couldn't so I'm pretty comfortable about it now. It will get even more solid once the plywood is in.
