I went to the lps to get some phos remover cause i'm getting alot of algae(gh,feather, and a little red slime)the only product they had was fluval clearmax phosphate remover, was cheap enough,so I bought it.Now i get home and read the instuctions inside the box(didn't say this on the outside)but it says to use extra caution when dosing saltwater aquariums that include inverts and live corals.(with no explanation why)Has anybody used this product?? and is it safe for my reef??? And does anybody know what the caution is all about???,I"m not putting it in unless I can find out if it is safe. Thanks

I believe that product is in a pouch and would go in a filter of some sort or in the flow of your sump if you have one. The reason they say be careful is that if you remove the phos too fast it may affect the inverts. So don't put in more than one pack at a time.

yes, there a pack of 3 pouches, and it look like brownish granules,it says each pouch is good for 27 gallons of water, but i have probably 45 lbs of liverock and 25ish lbs of sand in my 29 gallon reef,so theres probably only like 20 gallons of actuall water in the tank. Will i be over dosing?Or sould i remove some of the granules from the pouch?I'm just tring to starve and kill off some algea, but i don't want to harm the livestock. Thanks for the replies

Only if the package instructs you to. usually that is just with meds. I never remove carbon for p03 removal.

    +1 on Robman

I run both carbon and Elimiphos (Aquamedics GFO) at the same time
