Yesterday my pump for my PSK 150 skimmer started humming noisily. I figured it was time for a good cleaning so I did that today. I soaked the pump into vinegar for 4 hours and wiped it all clean. Upon reassembly, the pump still makes this noise. Is there something wrong with it, or did I miss something cleaning it? The pump still works, just is very noisy.

    Thanks!

Check the impeller magnet to see if it has any bumps on it.

Let us know what noise it is making.

Will do. It is sort of like a humming, vibration noise. I half expected to find something lodged in it when I cleaned it.

Mine is pretty loud that way also. With my bad hearing it isn't irritating though. Make sure you place the pump and skimmer on something to dampen the sound like a sponge or computer mouse pad and make sure they are not contacting the sides of your sump.
