Resolved powerhead issues

I got a new 9watt turbo twist uv sterilizer. It calls for a 100-200gph powerhead. I bought a maxijet 600 rated for 160gph but it will not pump the water threw. If i siphine it with my mouth i can get it to the outlet but it still wont flow it just holds its place in the hose. HELP

 

I have the 18w Turbo Twist, I have it attached to my Magnum 350 and havent had an issue with the water flow, except when i was speedy and set it up backwards (wouldnt flow correctly), however Im 50gph over the limit of the turbo twist. Do you have the in and out set up correctly?

 

yea it goes in the bottom and out the top. I think i need to get like a 250gph powerhead to pump it.

 

yeah my next guess would just be not enough power. I figure the GPH label on most boxes are good for the 1st few weeks and then they go down because of wear and tear and such... Give a shot, I dont see the harm on it.

 

yea. well with the powerhead i have . It wouldnt even start to pump the water. I had to siphine it by mouth then it wouldnt budge.

 

are you using it as a hangon, or conected through the main filtration?

 

im using it as a hangon for now until i get my stand done. Once i get my stand done it will be inline in my sump

 

Well, only thing i can think of is its either broken, or needs a higher GPH. regardless best of wishes fixing it and sorry I wasn't a huge help

 

make sure the pump is working correct in a sink ,put ur thumb over the outlet see if there is pressure also make sure ur up isnt down if im correct if u flip it it looks the same

 

well the lamp goes in the top of the sterilizer so its hooked up rite
