Popeye

Did your tang go blind after having popeye?
My blue tang got it today.
Water all seems normal.. so maybe from a scratch. He got some ich white spots for 2 days and are almost gone. He hasn't had ich for about 4 months.

 

My damsel got popeye with no ill aftereffects. Just keep the water quality as good as you can. I would coat the food with garlic the next few days to keep the immune system up to snuff (and keep her eating) and let it resolve. I doubt it will cause blindness. Just depends on how far the swelling goes and if the optic nerve gets pinched off.

 

I had a damsel with popeye and i was kind of hoping he wouldn't make it (only on the inside. I didn't tell anyone that ). He did with no ill effects, unfortunately.

 

How long did it last?

 

had 2 coral beauties with it bad--lasted about a week and 1/2--both recovered with no meds

 

yeah, about 3 weeks here, until I found some Info on causes and adjusted my aquarium accordingly.

 

Well... it's only been one day and already it looks better. It's not as milky white as yesterday. He had ich spots for only 3 days. I did turkey blast my rocks a few days ago.. I 'm wondering if it stressed him out. Maybe the muck in the water stressed him.
