Dont freak out yet. I had a Mccosker and he decided to take a ride in the overflow without me knowing. He was missing for 4 months but living down in my sump. Wrasses are good hiders too. During my tank crash and in fall. I assumed I lost my Ornate Leopard wrasse and Vrolicks Wrasse. But the randomly appeared 2 months later once things settled back to the normal.

It just not cool not knowing the condition of the fish and not even seen where t is.

What the do? hibernate like bears?
not eating for that long periods of times?
How did you handled the situation?

Just assumed it was a saddening loss to a feast for the hermit crabs :(. He didnt fare to well when I found him. For the Mccosker. as for my two wrasses that survived for a long period of time ... They are sand burring wrasses. However Not quite sure if the Flashers are that. Im pretty sure they hide in rockwork. Make sure your tank has a lid on it of some sort. They like to jump!
