Please help me, salt doesn't seem to be dissolving.

    I wouldn't worry about it too much if your salinity is stable, it may be grit from rock or waste

    I just mixed up salt in a cube and I had to get in there to give it a stir with a pipe. It cleared rather quickly after that.

    He doesn't have the rock yet.....

    how long was the salt mixed before it was added to the tank? Lots of the time, with me at least, i think my salt mix id dissolved, but a lot of crystals are still floating around.

    He just added the saltwater to the new tank...couldn't he just leave the powerheads on in the tank with heater to mix salt & water while in the tank overnight? There is no sand/rock in the tank yet. Should be good in 24 hours.

    it was mixing for about 2 days before i added it. I have about 4 pounds of live rock ...in the sump.

    Obviously you must have dead spots in your tank. Looks to me like you will need a better powerhead & or more flow throughout the tank.

    I don't think thats the issue I am having.. I have 2 pumps with a total of almost 1200gph. I wish that was the case, but I don't think so..

    It may not be, but what I am trying to say is: you have plenty of total flow through your tank. But in that specific area of the tank, you don't have enough.

    Could be some debris from the manufacturing process, I think you should siphon it out and carry on.
