Please help me pick the best looking rock setup.

2 inches from the top is not that bad as long as you don't put any corals up there... some of my life rock is at that level of the tank and as long as you have good flow to prevent extra algae growth there really shouldn't be any issues! Be aware that when you do water changes though there will be exposed live rock at that level so thats another reason why you shouldn't put corals up there.

 

Its a 90 gallon tank, I plan to start with 1 mp40 and i'm going to add another down the road ...I think that should cover the flow.
