Please help is my toadstool ok (with picture)

I have had this guy for almost a week now. He opened up the first day i got him but in the last 3 days he has been closed up nit exposing his tenticals. He also has this slimy stuff around him 2. Is he shedding or died.

looks like its sloughing a layer of skin. its what they do when they grow. might take a couple of days or longer. should be fine

 

I agree with Divott. A little extra flow for a couple of days on the cap speeds up the shedding process.

 

ohh thats a relief thanks guys i make sure to post a pic of what he looks like after he sheddes its skin

 

Don't be alarmed if it takes a while..when I had a toadstool it sometimes took a week or more to finish and get back to normal. No need to worry though!
