Well who is ready for this!? I sure am excited and I just wish they would hurry up with the R&D. Looks like the first will be Seashine by stray lighting company.

Really hoping they get a booth at MACNA to debut the best thing since sliced bread haha

These lights will make LEDs a thing of the past... ;)

I understand Aquarium Illumination, makers of the Sol, Nano, etc. are experimenting with plasma. The intensity is insane and the efficiency is rediculous.

Hope they can figure out the heat issue and if they will be more efficient than LEDs.

I saw something about them several years ago. Showed a pic of a fixture on a guy's ceiling and it lit up everything crazy bright and made his house crazy hot too. I agree with Bruh on this one. It is a very intriguing prospect once the heat is controlled.

How small can they make these thing?

LEDs are so small now they are perfect for pretty much any application.

The important part is spectral adjustment, you have a 7500k bulb, and must use special glass to get it to 14K, or 20K. You will likely still need supplement to pick up on the royal blue and violet spectrums. (450nm and 420nm)

heat issues have been resolved. They now run cooler than halides. See plot below for the drop off close to the IR light.

Oh, I know. It makes me feel like I should take the opposing stance just to give the forum balance.

I have been watching these plasma lights with interest. Looks pretty awesome.
