    I just found one of those on in my tank but it lacks the tentacles. I know this is an old post but did they always have tentacles?

    Not sure never really took notice, but i would bet they don't always show. it could always be some small sponge, either would be harmless.

    OMG just found this thread. I have these little critters ALL OVER my sump. Never knew what they were. lol. I guess i will stop trying to clean them out now.

    You'll see an explosion of them in the first couple months after your cycle and then as mysteriously as they appeared they will disappear.
