    Yeah it's a CF with blue and white.

    I've realized a couple things,

    1, since there isn't going to be any ammonia makers(fish) in the tank, why cycle? Do the corals let it off?

    2, since there aren't any fish, could I just run the AC 70 with live rock?

    Yes, corals are very much affected by water parameters and could be killed by the spike of a cycle.

    I think in a small tank like that, live rock would be enough to get your cycle to start.

    For SPS, you might want one little fish to help feed them lol. Or you could just spot feed the coral.

    I would cycle just to be on the safe side.

    Its so hard dude... lol Thats actually how I started keeping corals... I went from my 3 gallon pico to my frag system. I had huge issues with evaporation. Its borderline impossible to keep anything stable in a tank that small. If you are really set on doing so though check out my 3 gallon pico thread. It was alot of fun, but it was discouraging after a while.

    alright ill cycle the bugger. with the AC70 ill just put some rubble in it instead of a sponge. ill also run carbon. so would you recommend a small fish...?
