Ok this question is going to sound dumb because althoughI dont know the answer yet, I have a feeling theres is going to be a reason behind why what im thinking is probably not possible.

So here it is...Did you get any specimens? lol. As I said im sure theres is some regualtion on it but I must admit my ignorance in the subject of The Barrier Reef and/or the regulations on any other reef for that matter. I would assume not evn a frag, invert or broken peice of Reef are allowed however Im sure there is more to it?

No I did not bring home any coral.... would I have liked to? Yes
But in reality would I? No
It is illegal to take coral from the Barrier reef without a special permit, whice is very hard to get. And still there are places that are especially protected where NO ONE under any circumstances is allowed to take any coral.
Also I do not think it would be right to take from the reef. If everybody who went to visit the Great Barrier Reef took a small frag it would hurt the reef, and the overall environment...

as I said dude. Im ignorant to the laws and environmental issues of the reefs. and yes I assume if every person took a part of a reef home when they visited there would no longer be a reef. thats obvious. Didnt know if there was a permit, or license or restriction or what though.

Yes there is a permit as a said before, but remember it is for a reason. :) I am pretty sure most of these permits are also extremely expensive to get. Hope that clears it up for you. :)
