The lps and softies may be even slower than the birdsnest and monti caps. Those montis have been in the tank for a year. You can see the little encrusting I did have on sps in one of the images. It did that in a week and then stopped.

Also, notice the coralline disappearing on the back wall?

I only have the one Hamilton Metal Halide with a Phoenix 20k bulb.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Did you ever decide if you actually had RB? The growth of the Acropora will be noticeably affected by that and they will take a while to recover.

The candy cane in my avatar has been the same since last November.

I did. I treated my sps and haven't seen them since. In fact, they started encrusting after the treatment, but just to cover the super glue, and then stopped.

I would consider them a problem if this wasn't going on well before the addition of my new SPS frags. My softies and LPS don't grow either.

I think we had talked about this before, but to you target feed your LPS? This will greatly help their growth, I can tell you that.

I do not. I know it will help, but plenty of people do not and see tremendous growth. I have 2 family members with Euphylia and candy canes that are the size of softballs and never feed them.

I will admit my Euphylias do not get fed much, and yet my Torch is growing very nicely. However all of my other LPS get fed regularly and they have all shown a ton of growth (IMO). And they are in different tanks, under very different lighting.

My point is, it will only help!

maybe it's the salt mixture you are using, or maybe something's wrong with your source water. I don't know if you mentioned it or not, but are you using RO/ RODI water?

Yeah, I am just frustrated that I can't get anything to grow, even slightly, with halide lighting lol.

My LFS sells salt water, so I use that. It's run through a 3-chamber RODI unit.

Nitrates read 0 and phosphates did read 0.009 on my Hanna Checker.

I haven't had any coral deaths using the LFS water. They all show PE.
