    there is nothing wrong with that approach.

    I got 3 because led is roughly twice as efficient at light output as t5. And each boost par 30 is 10 watts. so 3 would put you at 30 watts of LED and that is equal to 60 watts of t5.

    that is a nice amount of light for sps growth in a 15.

    I thought watts where a poor way of measuring light now....

    watts is an outdated measurement of light, look at the par ratings of the a single bulb on their website.

    they aren't very accurate but I still use them since they are close enough, provided you know how to apply them to the specific lighting technologies. You should notice all the conversions I had to do to get my recommendation.

    But do look at the par data it will show the led are extremely powerful right below but not powerful toward the sides.
