quick question... sometimes certain heads of my paly don't open up, or aren't anything near the shape of a circle, and the tentacles(?) aren't long like they were when i first go it, but more heads have opened up also since i first got it, so im confused:confused:

I'm interested in this too. What I just found out was a paly in our tank...he doesn't look so good. Some heads don't open up and there is dark black stuff growing/hanging out around the stems. Someone mentioned zoa pox on another thread....is that possible?

Here's a sorta pic...I can take better at lunch.

Try using a turkey baster or syringe and gently blowing them off. Palys and zoas can and will close up from time to time.8) Also make sure you are running carbon and replacing it when exhausted.
