Hello all, I think I'm going to jump into the world of reef keeping, well some mushrooms and polyps etc. What do you all feel about ordering these types of things online? Stupid question, but does shipping decrease the survival rate? I mean, has anyone had bad experiences with corals dying due to being shipped? Also, can you guys suggest any sites that you have had good experiences with?

    Thanks in advance! Stef

Diver, that riptides reef seems awesome. For corals, I usually buy from exoticfish.com and fishsupply.com. They have good prices and I have not had any problems.

To answer your original question, almost all corals are shipped in one way or another. Some ship well & some do not. Most place's will offer some sort of arrive alive as long as it's not a very rare coral. Most of my frags, I do not ship with a guarantee because of the dollar amount but more common variety's are not a problem.
