One & Only - how long until nitrites appear?

    A little background first...my total system volume is ~20 gallons and I started with nothing but ~10 lbs BRS Reef Saver dry rock.

    I got my bottle of One & Only last Friday and dosed the tank with ~3 ppm of pure ammonia before adding it (shook the bottle vigorously as well, it was nice and cloudy). It's now day 5 and the ammonia levels have stayed the same with no visible change in my API kit...nitrites are also registering 0.

    Is this normal or did I receive a bad batch?

    What ammonia did you add? Is the 3 ppm ammonia ion or ammonia-nitrogen?

    Thanks for responding!

    I dosed ammonium hydroxide until it reached ~3 ppm. I'm not sure what the API kit measures regarding ammonia ion or ammonia nitrogen.
