One of the Largest Hammer OR Frogspawn Corals I have seen!

Today at my LFS, I took possession of what has to be the largest and most beautiful Torch Corals....(NOW IDENTIFIED AS A HAMMER OR FROGSPAWN) I have ever seen! I am no photographer and these pictures do not do justice to the 53 HEADS on this amazing specimen! All in all, right now he is approx.10" in diameter. I wanted to take the pic about an hour after I placed him in the tank so you can see most of the heads before they all opened, but several in the middle already have. I will take a few more shots in the coming weeks when he really gets acclimated. Enjoy!

    Vic

That is very nice, but not a torch! ;) Would need a better pic of the heads, but is either frogspawn or hammer. I would say hammer.

Why buy big? Why not buy small and watch it grow.....

Hmmm, I've had a few hammers...A bit different than this specimen, but may you may be correct to a frogspawn, BUT up close it looks VERY close to my other Torches in the tank.

I wanted a big specimen to start with for my clowns (at least we will see if they go for it), than going for an Anemones that scare me a bit too much with all the other expensive corals in the tank.

    That is a massive coral

I reckon the torch in my avatar came from a similiar sized colony that was broken up
