12/2 is pretty standard it should say on the plastic coating. most are stamped in plain sight. Do you know if your code requires you to run it in condut or can you use romex

romex and drywall skills are so/so. Im running a lot of crap on the tank now, so I just might run two breakers. Do you know how much crap you can put a breaker with out overloading it?

I am really not trying to be an arsse but I guess 4 years of college didn't teach him how to turn off the mains while working in the box which anyone with even the slightest bit of common sense will do.

I wired and plumbed my entire house and passed every inspection on the first shot, it is what they call an owner completion and I am here to tell you its not that hard to run a new circuit.....

but you are right 12 gauge wire is only rated for 20 amps....

no it is not but the moral of the storie is not how stupied my friend was but how easy it is to get blasted. Plus main contractor didn't want to pull the main cause other people were working the job he did get a big workmans comp bill in the end.

It is easy to run the wire and hook everything up. It's the drywall repairs that I don't want to do. The way my house layout is I'd have to make a bunch of holes in the drywall and in the basement, the walls are concrete to make it worse.

each item should have a UL listing on it check and see how much amps items draw and you can get a good idea from that. There are peek amps and running amps too. For example a fridge draw more on start up then normal running times. Ballasts do too. But also while your at it it wouldn't hurt to put in some gfi's too. Always a must around water.
