buying a stand costs 200, does making a stand cost that much or around that too? I have no idea how to make a stand though...

making a stand for that sized tank, would cost around 80 dollars, if you got hardwood ply. You can just make a frame out of 2x4's and skin the outside, and it would be even cheaper. You could also go and find a used nightstand and use it.

nightstand could support a 34 gallon tank??

    Update: Day 2

Coral beauty, Canary Blenny, Clown Fish are doing fine, Zoas are slowly starting to open, but have not yet fully opened yet under my Metal Halide lighting.

14 sps has bleached, out of 15, 1 is slowly starting to show polyp, this surviver is a purple birdnest. My frogspawn never recovered and was being eated by my cuc, so I threw it away before it caused problems.

So far 3 zoa lives, 1 birdnest lives, and 90% of my corals have died. Only 1 fish dead so far.

Cuc is still doing fine. More updates will be on the way later.

Don't rinse the cup of sand or your rock you're keeping with fresh water. The point is to keep the beneficial bacteria.

If you're talking about the rest of the sand that you're not going to use, sure.

You know, this whole thing reminds me of what one of my professors once told me..

"Sh** happens... but what an opportunity!"

Glad to see worst is behind you, looking forward to the new tank thread!
